Romy Jean Ceramics was first born in May 2023, when my boss at the time encouraged me to release my first collection of pots. I hand make every piece- starting from a lump of clay, hand glazing each one- I fire them twice in the kiln to create ceramic products that are lightweight and long-lasting.
I've been very fortunate that I've been working in the pottery-painting industry since 2016, where I started my first ever job as a teenager! I love to paint, and spent many years building on my personal style which now forms RJC!
Pretty much everything I know can be traced back to my former boss, Jess,who continues to be one of my biggest cheerleaders! Thank you for forcing me to learn how to use clay and put myself out there!
Everything I make comes from my heart and more often than not, is something that I want in the first place!! Everything is tested by me ( and my family & friends... love ya!) and I'm surprisingly quite clumsy for a ceramicist. If I can't break it easily, then it must be pretty good!! I pour my soul into this little business & I'm so happy to share it everyday with wonderful people ( yes, you reading this!) It is such a privilege that I am eternally grateful for.
